Claiborne - Overholt Funeral Home 1106 Hwy. 33 South New Tazewell, TN 37825 (423) 626 - 2191 Fax (423) 626 - 8440 Mrs. Artie Jeanette Roark age 89 of New Tazewell, TN was born July 27, 1925 and passed away February 3, 2015 at the Shannondale Nursing Home in Knoxville. She was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church in Powell. Jeanette and Henry alongside with the Rev. Hugh Vancel and Artie organized Bellevue Missionary Baptist Church in Bellevue, OH in 1959. After Henry's retirement from Ford Motor Company they moved back to New Tazewell in 1985. She had a passion for selling Fashion Two-Twenty Cosmetics. She was the daughter of the late Homer and Rettie Sandefur. She was preceded in death by her: Husband of 49 years: Henry Roark Grandson: Matthew Sweeney Son-in-Law: Jerry Chumley Brother: Joe Sandefur Sister: Pauline Havens Brother-in-Law: Steward Collingsworth Sister-in-Law: Mary Ellen Sandefur She is survived by her: Son: Duane Roark and wife Roxanne of Monroe, MI Daughters: Vivian Fowler and husband Richard of Flat Rock, OH Shirley Massamore and husband Larry of Temperance, MI Elaine Turner and husband Fred of Powell, TN Lisa Sweeney and husband Bill of Manchester, MI Sister: Dessie Sandefur Collingsworth of New Tazewell, TN 13 Grandchildren Several great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Friday, February 6, 2015 from 5PM till 7PM with funeral services to follow at 7PM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Snyder officiating. Music will be provided by Zach Sexton. Family and friends will meet Saturday February 7, 2015 at 11AM in the Fairview Cemetery for graveside services.
