Ben Allen Whitaker

Mr. Ben Allen Whitaker age 88 of New Tazewell, was born April 15, 1925 and passed away January 10, 2013 at the Claiborne County Hospital. He was a member and a Deacon of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church. Ben was the son of the late Rev. Joe & Priscilla Whitaker. He is also preceded in death by his brothers; John Whitaker, Vernon Whitaker, and Virgil Whitaker Sisters: Martha Dalton Spears, Thelma Spradling, Esther Collingsworth, and Mae Bolton He is survived by his: Loving wife of 66 years: Bobbie Whitaker Son: Jerry Whitaker and wife Helen Granddaughter: Janice Williams and husband Joe Great-Grandson: Matthew Rowland Several nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 12, 2013 from 5PM till 7PM at the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 1PM Monday in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dean Spradling and the Rev. Stanley Barker officiating. Music will be provided by Barbara Hatfield. Burial will follow in the Freedom Cemetery.
