Mr. Carl Powell age 81 of Speedwell, TN was born September 24, 1934 in Mary Helen KY and went to be with the Lord April 2, 2016 with his loving family by his side.
He was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church in Speedwell where he served as a deacon for 25 years. Carl was a member of the Shawnee Masonic Lodge #546 for 59 years. He was a star basketball player for Powell Valley High School where he graduated in 1953. Carl went on and worked for Norfolk- Southern and retired after 25 years. Carl was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved his dogs and horses. He loved spending time with his friends and family and attending church.

Carla (Dunn) Brandon, Nathaniel Pressnell and Chelsea (Pressnell) Estes

Several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Red Hill Baptist Church in Speedwell, TN from 4PM until 7PM with funeral services to follow at 7PM at Red Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Pressnell and Pastor Gary Mundy officiating. Music will be provided by Kenny Trent and David Evans.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 11AM in the Hooper Cemetery.
