Mr. Carter Poore age 94 of Tazewell, TN was born March 24, 1921 and passed away April 13, 2015 at the Claiborne County Nursing Home with his family by his side. He was a member of Mayes Chapel United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the US Army during WWII. Carter earned several medals during his service including the WWII Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, AP Theater Ribbon, 3 Bronze Service Stars,
Philippine Liberation Ribbon and one Bronze Star. After the Army he returned home and drove a school bus for over 20 years and farmed until his health didn't allow.

Sister: Cassy Cline
Brothers: Benton Runions and George Runions Jr.
Niece: Karen Runions
He is survived by his:

Will Poore and Cole Poore
Nieces: Shirley Stafford, Mary Ellen Allen, Thelma Wampler and Judy Swellings

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 5PM till 7PM with funeral services to follow at 7Pm in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with the
Rev. Bill Duncan officiating. Music will be provided by Ted DeFord.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 11AM in the Poore Family Cemetery with Military Honors.
