Mrs. Cynthia Russell Mrs. Cynthia Gray Poore Russell age 71 of New Tazewell, TN was born January 1, 1942 and went home to be with the Lord Saturday, October 19, 2013. Cynthia passed away at her home surrounded by family. She professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of Straight Creek Baptist Church. Cynthia devoted her life to caring for others, whether during their illness or providing child care to her special nieces and nepews. She was preceded in death by her: Parents: Alvis & Rosamae Widner Poore Brother: Dillis Poore Sisters-in-law: Imogene Bull Poore, Barbara Sue Poore, and Eula Gray Watson Poore She is survived by her: Loving husband of 49 years: Charles Russell Brother: Mack Poore Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Clay and Wanda Poore, Billy and Barbara Hurst Poore, Floyd and Louise Poore, Jimmy and Stella Poore, and Gerald Poore She leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and a host of many other loving relatives and friends who will miss her caring generous heart, but who realize that this day Cynthia "Sissy" is at home with Jesus. The family will receive friends Monday, October 21, 2013 from 5PM till 8PM at the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 10AM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Sweet and the Rev. Charlie Widner officiating. Music will be provided by Grace Quartet. Burial will follow in the Shoemaker Cemetery.
