Freddie Ray Myers, 69, of New Tazewell, TN, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. 

He was born May 19, 1949, to the late Will and Mary Myers.  He was a kind person and a friend to many.  He was a graduate of Claiborne County High School, and he proudly served our country in the United States Army, doing active duty in Vietnam and Korea. He was retired from Clayton Homes, in Bean Station, TN.

  Preceded in death by sisters Myrtle Myers, June Miller, Birdie Bolden, Jean "Toots" Roberts, Frances Cope, Billie Jo McNew ; brother Coy Myers ; sister-in-laws Mary Myers, Martha Myers; brother-in-laws Charlie Miller, Junior Roberts, Bill Cope, David McNew, and Hollis McManaway. 

Freddie is survived by  brother Johnny Myers, sister Linda Williams, sister Barb McManaway, and by many dear nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, August 9 at Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Rev. John Hatfield officiating. Music will be provided by Barbara Hatfield.

A military graveside service will be at 11am Friday, August 10, 2018 in Cooks Cemetery at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church.  Those wishing to go in procession are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:30 am. Pall bearers will be Dave Hopper, Fred Hopper, Bobby Roberts, Charles Roberts, Danny Williams, and Pat Cope.
