Survived by his wife, Lillian Painter, of 64 years. Sisters - Lois (Ernest) Young of Tazewell, TN and Johnnie Mae Hensley of Michigan. Children - Deborah Bridges, Marie Robbins, Sharon Emmerick, Sherl (Roger) Capps, and Joshua (Angela) Painter.
11 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
Herb was a Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Army and was in the Korean War.
He was also a member of the VFW Post 8779.
After serving in the war, Herb became a trucker for many years and then was a carpenter for many years after that. He was a family man who worked hard all his life to take care of his wife and kids that he loved dearly.
He will be truly missed by all his beloved family.
There will be a private graveside service at Hurst Evans Cemetery on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022, at 11:30 am.
