Jean Overton

Mrs. Jean Overton age 87 of Tazewell, TN was born May 22, 1926 and went to be with the Lord March 30, 2014 with her family by her side. She was a faithful member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Jean was also a member of the Gibson Hall Homemakers. She enjoyed traveling and painting. She was preceded in death by: Parents: John and Mossie White Husband of 53 years: Charles W. "Buckshot" Overton Infant Daughter: Kathy Elaine Overton Daughter-in-Law: Vickie Overton Sisters: Dola Webb, Maggie Dossett, Ora Dossett, Ruby Brummitt, Jewel Lewis Twin Sister: June Shoffner Brothers: John White, James White, Jeff White, and Earl White She is survived by her: Children: David Overton and wife Marsha of New Tazewell, TN Terry Overton of Tazewell, TN and special friend Lisa Moyers of Middlesboro, KY Rosemary Jones and husband Richard of New Tazewell, TN Granddaughters: Angela Cundiff and husband Brian of Folsom, CA Ashley Jones of New Tazewell, TN Sisters: Margie Houser of Maynardville, TN Meryl Peters of Knoxville, TN Goldie Langley of Maynardville, TN Several nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 5PM till 8PM with funeral services to follow at 8PM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Eddie Overholt and the Rev. John Lewis officiating. Music will be provided by the Cedar Grove Church Choir. Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 11AM in the Overton Cemetery Pallbearers: Randy Jennings, Rev.
