Katherine M. Leffew

Katherine "Kat" M. Leffew age 85 of Miamisburg, OH, passed away at Hospice of Dayton after a brief and unexpected illness. She was born October 8, 1928 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. Katherine was a member of Springdale Baptist Church since 1941. She liked to travel, play yatzee, and garden. After the death of Herman, she returned to Miamisburg, OH to be near her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was married to William Herman Leffew for 53 years until his passing in 2001. She was preceded in death by her: Parents: Grover and Viola Bailey 6 brother and 5 sisters She is survived by her: Sons: Leonard Leffew and wife Linda of Brookville, OH Mark Leffew and wife Sandy of Plain City, OH Daughter: Debbie "Sis" Sewell and husband Hagen of Miamisburg, OH She was Meemaw to her grandchildren Shannon (Bryan) Fitzwater, Tracy (Joe) Kennedy, Sheri (Jeremy) Deuto, Melanie (Andy) Todd, TJ (Kristi) Sewell, and Timothy Leffew. Great Grandchildren: Meredith Saylor, Jak Kennedy, Paige Todd, Jaida Kennedy, and Chase Deuto Sisters-in-Law: Nadine and husband Charlie Roberts, Charlene Cupp, Edna Burke, and Helen Steadman Numerous nieces and nephews Katherine also had a dear and close friend, Mary Greggerson of Miamisburg, OH for over 50 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the American Heart Assocation in her memory. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 10AM until 12 Noon with funeral services to follow at 12 Noon in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mitch Burke officiating. Burial will follow in the Hack Hurst Cemetery.
