Claiborne - Overholt Funeral Home 1106 Hwy. 33 South New Tazewell, TN 37825 (423) 626 - 2191 Fax (423) 626 - 8440 Lorene Sutton Marlow, 77 went to be with her lord on September 7th, 2014 at the Claiborne County Nursing Home. She was a life time resident of Tazewell. She graduated from CCHS and Drones Business College in Nashville, TN where she was an outstanding basketball player with both schools. She was always a loyal supporter of the University of Tennessee Sports program, especially the Lady Vols. She was a member of Binghamtown Baptist Church, served as president for several years of the American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary post 109, and served many years as treasurer of the Caves Spring Cemetery Fund. She retired from Powell Valley Electric Cooperative after 30 years. She met and made many friends during her time there. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Lowell Marlow, her parents William O. and Mary Lee Whitaker Sutton, Brother Wade Sutton, Sister Eva Edmondson, and brother-in-law Billy Mayes. She is survived by her brother Gordon Sutton and wife Bettie, sister Jean Mayes, sister-in-law Helen Conatser, brother-in-law Bob Marlow, nieces Jeanne Lyn Crutchfield and husband Burgin, Kathy Stange and husband Will, Deborah Espy and husband Marvin, Rhonda McNew and husband Mike, nephews Scott Marlow and wife Maretha, Kelly Marlow and wife K. Lyn, James Marlow and wife Petera, and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will recieve friends Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 5PM till 7PM with funeral services to follow at 7PM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Campbell officiating. Music will be provided by Janice Derreberry and Rev. Mark Campbell. Graveside services will be conducted at 10AM Thursday in the Cave Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers: Ronnie Williams, Randy Campbell, Scott Marlow, Burgin Crutchfield, David Graham, and David Large. Honorary Pallbearers: Randall Meyers, Clyde Caylor, Mike Campbell, Steve Campbell, JoAnn Dillingham, David Cline, George Malone, Phillip Strange and Rodney Campbell. The family would like to thank Lora Abbott Harris (Godchild), Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Caylor, Peggy Krach, Lillian Pace, Ann Campbell, Lou Lambert, and the staff of Claiborne County Nursing Home for their kind help during Lorene's illness.
