Mrs. Mary Ethel Shaw Farmer of New Tazewell, TN, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in her 82rd year at the University of Tennessee hospital with her family at her side.

She was born July 9, 1936 in Claiborne County, a Daughter of the late W H Shaw and Docia (Wilson) Shaw.

She is preceded in death by her brother Willard Shaw and wife Pauline, Sisters Gladys and husband Lee Haynes, Edith and husband Bill Lowe, Nancy and husband T.H. Smith, Brother in law Junior Cochran of Knoxville, TN.

Mary Farmer beloved wife of the late Frank Farmer. Much loved Mother of Tina and David Rasnic, Terry and Rick Atkins, Lisa and John Winchester of Sparta, Tennessee, Frankie and Sonya Webb Farmer from Lafollette, TN, Mike and Linda Janeway Farmer, M Lynn and Tony Pique of Corryton, TN, Scarlet and Tim Johnson and Kristie and Dennis Smith.

Cherished grandmother of Joyce Griffin Brooks and Chuck Brooks, Jeffrey Shelton, Adam Rasnic and Jennifer Poore, Craig and Brittney Atkins, Chris and Jessie Atkins, Jason and Michelle Harville Tipton, Christina and Reggie Hawes from Pennsylvania, Victoria and Adam Johnson from Pennsylvania, Tyson Farmer from Lafollette, Tennessee, Jake Farmer from Lafollette, TN and Chelsea Danielle Maples, Amanda Janeway Brooks and Tyler Brooks, Travis Farmer, Pamela Miracle, Michelle and Cody McDaniel from Nashville, TN, Samantha and Jeff Harvey, Timmy Dale Johnson and Shannon Dison, Derek and Jennifer Smith and Jordan Smith.

Great grandmother of Jenna Brooks, Jack Brooks, Nick Brooks, Blaze Rasnic, Bella Rasnic, Ella Atkins, Aleah Jane England, Baby Atkins coming in July, Macaley Goins, Brooklynn Gambrel, Nevada Tipton of Knoxville, TN, Jayda Tipton, Korynn Hawes of Pennsylvania, Jaylynn Hawes from Pennsylvania, Riley from Pennsylvania, Kayleigh Miracle, Oliver Fultz, Lynnlee McDaniel from Nashville, Tennessee, Lawton James McDaniel from Nashville, Tennessee, John Harvey, Samuel Harvey, Chloe Smith and Jada Smith.

Dear Sister of Eula Gray Cochran of Knoxville, TN, and Dear Sister Bertha and Brother in law Edward Lynch. Remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

The Family will receive friends Friday, February 22, 2019 from 5 PM till 7 PM with funeral services to follow at 7 PM in the Overholt Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Wynn and Rev. Tommy Louthan officiating. Music will be provided by Gail Duncan and Rev. Steve Moyers.

Graveside Services will be conducted Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11 AM in the Irish Memorial Gardens.
