Claiborne - Overholt Funeral Home 1106 Hwy. 33 South New Tazewell, TN 37825 (423) 626 - 2191 Fax (423) 626 - 8440 Mrs. Mattie Lee Western age 96 of New Tazewell, TN was born August 8, 1918 and passed away July 14, 2015 at the Claiborne County Nursing Home. She was very active as an American Legion Auxiliary Member and very active with Dogwood Homemakers. Mattie Lee was also a caregiver for many of her family members. She was preceded in death by her: Parents: Elmer and Cora Alice (McBee) Mountain Husband: Kenneth Western Brothers: Austin and wife Lois Mountain Doyle and wife Grace Mountain Sister: Christine Cole She is survived by her: Brother: Roger Mountain of Kansas City, MO Several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 10AM till 11AM with funeral services to follow at 11AM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Overholt officiating. Music will be provided by Marty Reece. Burial will follow in the Irish Memorial Gardens.
