Mrs. Maxie L. England
Maxie Laura Ellen England, age 90, born June 30, 1922, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 17, 2013 at her home in Tazewell. She professed salvation at an early age at Swan Creek Baptist Church and was a member at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and babysitter to many who called her "Granny". Over the years she took great pride in her garden, quilting, hosting Sunday dinner, and babysitting. Granny kept kids for over 30 years as many as 20 at a time in the summer months. Maxie was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Ova Carrol, husband Ed England, sons Archie and John England, grandson Jerry England, three sisters Opal Lee Stoner, Univee and Okle Carrol, brothers Jessie and James Carrol. She is survived by her sons Frank and wife Gloria England of Morristown, Charlie and wife Johnetta England, Ed England Jr. and wife Shelia, Glen and wife Jane England of Tazewell, daughters Okle and husband Bill Cunningham, Gladys and husband Larry Worley, Bertha and husband Clyde Daniels, daughter-in-law Glenda England all of Tazewell. She has 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and 4 step great grandchildren. 2 sisters Norsie Carrol of Tazewell and Nellie Ruth Singleton of New Tazewell. Sisters-in-law Dorthy Carrol and Linda Valley of New Tazewell. She had very special friends and caregivers Victoria Sweet and the home health nurses. Also very special friends Roscoe and Joyce Watson.

The family will receive friends Sunday May 19, 2013 from 3PM until 7PM at the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7PM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Campbell, Rev. Tommy Louthan, and the Rev. Billy Smith officiating. Music will be provided by The Cosby Family. Graveside services will be conducted Monday, May 20th at 10:30AM in the Lester Cemetery.
