Peggy Lou Welch Cupp

Peggy Lou Welch Cupp age 79 of Plainview was born April 26, 1941 and passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at 6:20 PM while at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Peggy grew up in Middlesboro, KY and was of the Baptist Faith. In her teen years she moved to Monroe, MI where while at church service, she met the love of her life Roy Cupp. They were married for 49 years until Roy’s death in 2006. They had six children.

She is preceded in death by her:     Husband: Roy E. Cupp     Daughters: Ruth Cupp, Rachel Cupp and Katherine Denise Acuff.     Parents: Earl and Thelma Welch     Sister: Patricia Engar     Brother: Larry Welch     Grandmother: Mae (Mammy) Smith     Best Friend: Clara Rice

She is survived by her:     Sons: James Roland     Carl Dwayne (Cindi) Cupp     Daughter: Amy Elizabeth (Allen) Frye     Son-in-law: Bryce Acuff     Grandchildren: Emily Cupp, Faith Frye, Shelly and Christopher Cupp, Dusty and Anthony Cupp     Great Grandchildren: Blake, Emma, Chandra, Rylee and Hudson     Brother: David (Linda) Welch, Chuck Welch     Sisters:Earlene-Boots (Charles) Stanwick     Charlene Welch     Brother and Sister-in-laws: Harold Cupp     Ronel (Phyllis) Cupp     Joyce Lavonne (Bob) Bush     Rowena Keck Cupp     Diane Welch     And a host of nieces and nephews and other relative and friends.

Family and friends may come by Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home at your convivence on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 for viewing from 3PM till 7PM.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Drummonds Cemetery in New Tazewell at 1PM. The Rev. Gary Satterfield and the Rev. Tim Muncey will be officiating.
