Rose Coffey Davidson

Mrs. Rose (Coffey) Davidson, 91 of Thorn Hill went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband, Hubert, Thursday, March 4, 2021.

She was the matriarch of our family and ruled the roost. She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories of many home cooked meals.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Davidson; son-in-law, Bill Clay; parents, W.P. and Mamie Coffey; brothers, Lloyd “Jack” Coffey, R.B. Coffey, and Wilbur Coffey; sisters, Freda Mallicoat and Ann Holt; sister-in-law, Francis Coffey; brothers-in-law, Horace Mallicoat and Allen Herald.

Survivors include daughter, Darlene Clay of Washburn, son, Denver Davidson and wife, Bridget of Thorn Hill. Grandchildren, Greg (Sherry) Clay of Knoxville Garnet (Michael) Southerland of Washburn, Aaron (Stacey) Clay of Washburn, Jade (Aaron) Webb of Sunbright and Clint (Brittney) Davidson of Athens, TN. 16 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Sister, Ethel “Tootsie” Herald of Ohio; brother, Alton (Evelyn)Coffey of Florida and Vernon (Virginia) Coffey of Bean Station. Sisters-in-law, Glenda Coffey of Knoxville, and Kathryn Coffey of Thorn Hill. Brother-in-law, Truman Holt of Bean Station. Nieces, nephews, and an abundance of friends and loved ones.

Special thank you to her caregivers Starrelet, Emma and Teresa and everyone at Smoky Mountain Hospice.

The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 6th at Claiborne ~ Overholt Funeral Home in New Tazewell, TN. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Sunday, March 7 at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in Thorn Hill. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Service will be conducted by Rev. Carl Dennis Ford, Rev. Charles Simpson and Rev. Lee Guin. Singers, Brittney Davidson and Liza Rogers. Pallbearers, Greg Clay, Aaron Clay, Clint Davidson, Rev. Michael Southerland, Aaron Webb and Miciah Clay. Honarary pallbearers are the great grandsons.

Mrs. Davidson will lie in state 30 minutes before the service.

Due to Covid-19, all persons attending are required to wear facial coverings and practice social distancing.
