Mr. Rufus Edward Upton was born January 20, 1945 and passed away December 20, 2022

He was of the Baptist Faith.

He was ordained as a Deacon June 14, 1998

He married Charlene Green July 14, 1966

He was preceded in death by his:

Parents: Rufus Jack (Gub) Upton and Maude Noala Thompson Upton

Infant Daughter: Debra Marchelle Upton

Sister: Mary Upton

Brothers: Verlon and Alan Clark Upton

He is survived by his:

Wife: Charlene Green Upton of 56 years

Daughters: Connie (David) Guy, and Amy Jo Upton

Grandchildren: Anthony Guy, Amber Guy, Allison (Aaron) Ketter, Jacob (Chris) Guy, Makenna, Peyton, and Alexis Guy

Great Grandchildren: Ryan Urban, Alaina, Daniel, and Aubrie Guy, Colton and Carter Guy, Carson Davis, and Caiden Ketter.

Brothers: Wayne Upton and Lee Upton

Sister: Judy Upton McCreedy

Special Brother In Law: Jerry Green and Sister In Law Joann Green Venable

And a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends

The family will receive friends Monday, December 26, 2022 from 5PM until 7PM with funeral services to follow at 7PM in the Claiborne Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Louthan officiating. Music will be provided by David Painter.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, December 27, 2022 in the Burch Cemetery at 11AM with full Military Honors.
