Meade age 87 of New Tazewell, TN gave up his fight with end renal kidney disease after being on kidney dialysis for several years. He was a devoted member of the Tazewell Church of Christ. Tom served as a song leader for many years and was very active in all services of the Lord's work as long as his health permitted. He was a Chrysler Corp. retiree, a veteran of WWII & the Korean War, a member of the American Legion, and served in the former Claiborne County Honor Guard where he served on many funerals. He loved and honored God and the country. He is preceded in death by his: Parents: Thomas Meade Sr. and Gemima Meade Wife: Betty Lou Meade Son: Dennis Wayne Meade Brothers: Garland, Ulysess, Cecil, Walk, Willis, Phillip, and J.D. Meade Sisters: Laura, Clara, Irene Meade, Barbara Novakowski and Jesse King He is survived by his: Estranged Son: Gregory Meade of Houston, TX Daughter-in-Law: Karen (Maddox) Meade of Simpsonville, SC Grandchildren: Abigail Autumn Meade, Zachary Thomas Meade, and Matthew Joshua Meade all of Simpsonville, SC. Sisters: Juanita Borelli and husband Nino of Erie, MI Katheryn Meade of Toledo, OH Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 5PM till 7PM with funeral services to follow at 7PM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jim Callahan and Charles Hoskins officiating. Music will be provided by the congregation of the Tazewell Church of Christ. Graveside services will be conducted Monday, June 9th at 10AM in the Irish Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
