Truman Edward Gilpin

Mr. Truman Gilpin age 77 of New Tazewell, TN was born November 18, 1939 and departed this life on October 22, 2017. He professed his salvation at the age of 12. Truman was a member of Big Springs Union Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his: Parents: Ernest H. and Nealie (Brooks) Gilpin Wife: Evelyn Cobb Russell Gilpin Grandson: U.S. Army Specialist Michael Dale Epperson He is survived by his: Mother of his children: Mabel "Sue" Cosby Allen Children: Teddy Gilpin and wife Melissa of Gum Spring, VA Teresa Elliott and husband Gene of Louisville, TN Dewayne Gilpin of New Tazewell, TN Grandchildren: Jessica Hawk, Ashton Tower and Tessa Gilpin 5 Great Grandchildren Sister: Darlene Gilpin of Harrogate, TN A host of other loving relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 5PM until 7PM with funeral services to follow at 7PM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lawrence Fultz and the Rev. Eddie Overholt officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10AM Thursday at Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home to go in procession to Irish Memorial Gardens for graveside services.
